✨ From a Messy Garage to Millions of Moments: The Story of the Modern Direct Seller Podcast
As we step into 2026, I’ve been reflecting a lot on 2025 — and one thing keeps coming to the surface: the Modern Direct Seller Podcast.
I had a moment wondering if it’s still on the “must do” list for 2026, or if I should pause it or even re-brand it. (“The Becky Launder Show” did cross my mind!)
Here’s the thing… Podcasting is funny like that.
You can see the numbers — downloads, growth, reach — but you don’t always feel it in real time.
If you’ve ever hosted a podcast or even shared something meaningful on social, you probably know the feeling…

Most people are listening quietly.
In the carpool line.
On a walk.
While folding laundry.
Between meetings.
They’re learning, thinking, applying — but rarely stopping to comment, review, or send a quick “hey, this helped.”
And that’s okay.
But it does mean that sometimes, you’re creating week after week without much immediate feedback.
Which is why this moment in 2025 stopped me in my tracks.
A Moment That Made Me Pause
When the Modern Direct Seller Podcast was featured by Direct Selling News as a top podcast for the field, it hit differently than I expected.
Sidenote: I’m featured right under Jasmine Star, who I adore… sooooo, fan girl moment!
They described the show as:
“Like having a network-marketing business coach in your pocket.”
And honestly? That one sentence felt like confirmation.
That the conversations matter.
That the consistency matters.
That showing up — even when it feels quiet — matters.
The stats from 2025 were exciting, yes.
But this recognition?
This made the entire year of showing up every single week feel incredibly fulfilling.

How It All Started (The Very Unpolished Version)
What makes this moment extra meaningful is reflecting back to where this podcast actually began.
It didn’t start in a fancy studio.
Or even with a camera.
Or with a big strategy.
It started in 2020, in a messy garage, with no camera on.
I just had a mic. 🎙️ And fun fact: I recorded the first 5 episodes with the mic OFF and had to re-record them.
At the time, my house was pure chaos.
Distance learning.
Most days there were 3 kids “trying” to do Zoom School. We’re talking Kinder, First Grade and Second Grade. At home.
Chromebooks everywhere. Snacks everywhere. Noise everywhere.
And if I’m being honest?
I didn’t start the podcast because I had some big master plan to be featured by DSN.
I started it because:
1. I needed an escape from the crazy.
2. I wanted an excuse to talk to cool adults.
3. I craved real conversation in the middle of a very loud (but also isolating) season.
So I hit record.
What It’s Become
From that garage in 2020, the podcast has grown into something I couldn’t have fully imagined back then.
Over the years, we’ve gone on to interview:
- Founders
- Field leaders
- Industry experts
- Community builders
- Smart, thoughtful humans doing business differently
It’s become one of the most fun parts of my business — truly.
In fact, I really see the podcast being a way to get “in” with people that I’d love to collab work with. Countless times, I’ve requested an interview with someone because I wanted to get to know them personally. And, it’s a much easier “yes” to get a podcast booked than schedule a sales call or coffee chat. It has become a platform that allows me to share the stage with others, growing their visibility, while also sharing incredible value with my listeners.
That right there is GOLD.
What’s Next for the Podcast
I’m stepping into 2026 with the vision to ELEVATE (hello word of the year). What you can expect is even bigger name guests, incredible industry experts, more banter with Jeremy and me (I know you love those episodes!) and hearing from real-life direct sellers and network marketers that are in the field making magic happen each day. I hope you feel like you can pull up a chair, grab a cup of coffee (or tea) and be right there inside the conversation.
